We offer full day pre-booked visits for school groups of up to 35 children costing just £175.
School visits are aimed at primary school children. For many years those walks were led by Ray Jackson MBE, the long-serving warden who built the education work at the wood. That tradition continues: visiting groups still walk the reserve with the education team, discovering what birds and animals live in or visit Lower Moss Wood. There is a charge of £5 per head above 35 children to a maximum of 40 and accompanying adults go free.

In the morning they will learn to sing like the birds and become animal detectives and discover the clues that wildlife leave behind. They will also hear enchanting stories about the animals and plant life within the woods.
In the afternoon they will get to go pond dipping!!
Pond dipping is an easy enjoyable activity for all children and adults to get involved in! Exploring beneath the surface of the water and discovering an unseen world of amazing wildlife. There are all sorts of interesting creatures living in our pond.
